Situated on the Manatee River, Whiskey Joe's Bar & Grill offers more than just waterfront views. The restaurant brings island-inspired dishes and a taste of a paradise to residents of Ellenton, Florida.
I recently got to try Whiskey Joe's Bar & Grill before they opened as they invited me to their Friends and Family Night. I honestly can't wait until they're actually open to the public because it's a great addition to the area. The food was fantastic, the views were amazing, the atmosphere was great and I think it's a nice change of pace for the lifestyle in Ellenton.
Whiskey Joe's Bar & Grill is named after a renowned sailor, adventurer and alligator tamer who sailed the open seas discovering new flavors and spices, so naturally, their menu features local Florida favorites mixed with Caribbean flavors. During the Friends and Family Night, my husband and I tried Whiskey Joe's Calamarty, a Classic Pepperoni Pizza, the Mango Mahi Tacos and a Chocolate Mousse Peanut Butter Cup Pie. They were all delicious!
The only problem you'll have at Whiskey Joe's is deciding on what drink to get. Their robust cocktail menu has 40+ tiki cocktails, local beers, wine and more. During Happy Hour, you can enjoy $3 domestic draft beer, $5 speciality drinks, $6 wine on tap and $7 cocktails. I tried the Key Lime Colada and the Original Mojito - both fantastic drinks to enjoy while watching the sunset.
While you wait for your meal, you can listen to the live music while you play a round of corn hole or relax by the fire pits in the beach area. You can even visit the restaurant by pulling up on your boat! Will you be checking out Whiskey Joe's when they open on Monday, March 16?
