In honor of National Hot Toddy Day, I'm sharing a simple recipe for a classic hot toddy. This is the perfect drink to have around the holidays, when it's a little chilly out, if you're suffering from a cold (minus the bourbon) or simply just because!
This is not a sponsored post. All opinions are my own. I received a free bottle of Penelope Bourbon through a giveaway on Instagram and decided to incorporate it into this recipe.
Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces of Penelope Bourbon
2-3 teaspoons of honey
2-3 teaspoons of lemon juice
1 lemon round
3/4 cup of water
Directions
1. In a tea kettle, boil the water. Once boiled, pour into mug.
2. Add Penelope Bourbon, 2-3 teaspoons of honey and 2-3 teaspoons of lemon juice. Stir all the ingredients until the honey is dissolved. Taste and add more lemon or honey if needed.
3. Garnish drink with a lemon round. You can also add a cinnamon stick for a little extra flavor!
