Creating the Perfect Scent at The Candle Pour

The next time you're in the Tampa Bay area, you need to check out The Candle Pour in Hyde Park for a truly unique experience like no other! Like most, I love candles and at any given time you can find 2 or 3 burning in my home. From the traditional candle to diffusers and room sprays, there's a little something for everyone at this unique store and the best part is you're creating your own signature scent and not just selecting a pre-made item!

The Candle Pour is essentially a custom candle-making experience that allows you to create your own soy-wax candle. There is a wall with over 100 different fragrance oils for you to smell in order to select your favorites and then an associate will help you narrow them down into scents that will work well together. After that, you'll start smelling the different combinations that work well together until you find the one you love.

Once you've decided on the top oils you're going to use, you'll start mixing them into a container. This part can get tricky because too much of one oil can become overwhelming, so it's best to do drops of each oil one at a time to ensure you're evenly balancing it out. If you don't like the combination you're getting, you can always start over! I ended up completely changing what I thought I originally wanted and I was so happy that I did. So if you're not liking the outcome, don't be afraid to let the associate know. Your associate will be there every step of the way, so don't be afraid to ask them questions either. You can literally explain the scent you're trying to create and they're able to help you achieve it.

The entire process takes roughly 30 - 45 minutes and then once your candle is poured, it will need to set for about 1.5 - 2 hours before it is ready to go home. Don't worry though, Hyde Park is filled with plenty of shopping and restaurant options, so the time will go by quickly.
