Between bottomless mimosas, avocado toast and getting dressed up in your very best outfit, brunch is basically a social event that no one wants to miss out on. And with more and more restaurants catching on to the brunch-obsessed crowd, restaurants are serving up spreads that'll give anyone with an Instagram account major FOMO. I'm always looking for the best brunch spots in Sarasota, so when Overture Restaurant at Art Ovation Hotel launched their Brunch & Brushes event and invited me to come try it out, I couldn't wait!
The hotel itself is located in the heart of downtown Sarasota and features quarterly curated exhibitions, performances and special guest appearances throughout the year. Overture Restaurant is located on the first floor and is open to hotel guests as well as the public.
Brunch & Brushes is definitely not your average brunch by any means. The brunch itself is set up buffet style, which in my opinion, is the best way to go. A couple mimosas in and you stop judging yourself for that second (and maybe third) plate you're enjoying of unlimited classics like made-to-order omelettes, French toast, eggs Benedict, build-your-own biscuit and more. There's also a create-your-own mimosa and Bloody Mary bar with enough colorful mixers, mix-ins, garnishes and toppings to create a cocktail masterpiece.
One thing that I loved about this event was that they stuck to their overall theme, which is art. While you're dining, your experience is elevated by the soothing sounds of SRQ Violinist and an art masterpiece is being created on a canvas in the dining room. The atmosphere itself made the entire experience so different from any other brunch I've been to!
Once you're finished up with brunch, you can enjoy complimentary access to the rooftop pool bar where you can soak up the sun, enjoy live music and take in the beautiful skyline of downtown Sarasota.
