Pop Century has always been one of my favorite value resorts at Disney. Not only is the decor super cute as it features the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's, but the whole atmosphere as a resort. With all the vibrant colors, it really feels like Disney has been perfectly embodied into a hotel. However, Pop Century recently made some magical updates that have made this value resort even better!
While the rooms have lost their specific homage to whatever decade you are staying in, the modern vibe does not disappoint. Disney designed these rooms with white features, dark wood and splashes of color; helping to really achieve a modernized look. The rooms now also have hardwood floors rather than carpet. And instead of two double beds like before, each room has a queen bed and a murphy bed.
When you first get to your room, the murphy bed isn't pulled out, so you have a table underneath the bed. This is an excellent use of space because it leaves the room much more open if you don't have both beds on display. In addition, there are plenty of USB outlets as well as regular outlets scattered around the room, which makes charging your assortments of devices easier.
The bathroom has also received a major update. There is now a barn door to separate the bedroom and bathroom, unlike before when there was a curtain. The sinks are redesigned to be more modern and there are plenty of shelves around the sink area to store small items. The showers have also improved with a sliding glass door and a three-piece shower fixture. Finally, they have done away with the small shampoos and soaps and replaced it with refillable shampoo/body wash/conditioner containers in the shower.
One major addition coming to this resort will be a stop for the new gondola system called Disney Skyliner that they will be implementing. Guests will be able to take a gondola to soar high in the sky to their Disney destinations including Epcot, Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century Resort and Art of Animation Resort. You'll soon be able to add even more magic to your vacation experience!
Have you stayed at Pop Century since it was renovated? What are your thoughts on the changes?
